PGCIL 668 Diploma Trainee, JOT, JTT Recruitment 2026 - Complete Details

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to total 668 permanent posts of Diploma Trainee (Electrical/Civil/Survey), Junior Officer Trainee (HR/F&A), and Junior Technician Trainee (Survey). Last date to apply is 11-05-2026.

Selected candidates will be engaged in technical operations, project execution, survey activities, and administrative or finance-related functions across various units within the organization. The recruitment drive also includes 30 vaancies in POWERGRID subsidiary Central Transmission Utility of India Limited (CTUIL).

Diploma Trainee (Civil) 111 Full-time 3-year Diploma in Civil Engineering with required marks.
Higher qualification (BTECH / MTECH) not allowed.
Diploma Trainee (Survey) 9 Diploma in Survey Engineering OR Civil (with Survey subject).
Minimum 70% marks.
Higher qualification (BTECH / MTECH) not allowed.
Junior Officer Trainee (HR) 18 3-year Graduate Degree (BBA/BBM/BBS or equivalent) with minimum 60%.
Postgraduate not allowed.
Junior Officer Trainee (F&A) 32 Inter CA / Inter CMA.
Higher qualification not allowed.
Junior Technician Trainee (Survey) 15 2-year ITI (Surveyor) from recognized institute.
Higher qualification (Diploma/B.E./B.Tech) not allowed.
Age Conditions
  • To be eligible to apply, unreserved category candidates must have born on or after 12-05-1999
  • Upper Age Relaxation
    • OBC (NCL): 3 years
    • SC/ST: 5 years
    • PwBD: 10 years (UR/EWS), 13 years (OBC), 15 years (SC/ST)

Probation / Training
  • 1 year training period. Permanent Absorption to be done after successful completion of training.

  • JTT (Survey):

Written Test / Computer Based Test (CBT)

Component Details

Questions Type Objective Type (Each question will have four answer options)
Part-I: 120 Questions [TKT/PKT] Technical Knowledge (TKT) for DTE/DTC/DTS/JTT(Survey) or Professional Knowledge (PKT) for JOT-(HR)/(F&A) from respective disciplines.
Part-II: 50 Questions [Aptitude Test] Questions will include English vocabulary, verbal comprehension, quantitative aptitude, reasoning ability, data sufficiency and interpretation, numerical ability, and General Awareness.
Total Questions 170 Questions
Marking Scheme All questions will carry equal marks (1 mark).
Negative Marking Wrong and multiple answers will result in negative marks of 1/4 per answer.

Candidates will have to secure the following minimum qualifying marks to be considered for the next stage of selection.

Computer Skill Test (CST) / Trade Test

The Computer Skill Test and Trade Test will be qualifying in nature. The marks obtained in these tests will carry no weightage in the final merit.

Those who qualify in the Written Test/CBT and CST/Trade Test (wherever applicable) will be empaneled in order of merit as per their marks in the Written Test/CBT. In case two or more candidates secure equal marks, the candidate eldest in age will be placed first among them. Offer of Appointment will be issued to suitable candidates in order of merit, subject to being found medically fit.

Fee Structure :

SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-SM candidates are exempted from payment of application fee. Others need to pay Rs 300 for Posts of DTE/DTC/ DTS/JOT (HR)/ JOT (F&A) and Rs 200 For the Post of JTT(Survey). Payment is to be made online.

How to Apply :

Applications for these posts are to be submitted through the POWERGRID Recruitment Portal. The complete application process is given below:

  • Candidates must first complete registration on the portal by providing basic details. A valid email ID and mobile number must remain active throughout the entire selection process.
  • Only one region should be selected at the time of application. The Computer Based Test (CBT) will be conducted on the same day across all regions. Once selected, the region cannot be changed.
  • Scanned copies of the following documents must be uploaded in the prescribed format:
    • Recent passport size color photograph (white background) – Max 50 KB (.jpg)
    • Signature (blue/black ink) – Max 50 KB (.jpg)
    • Date of Birth Proof (Matriculation/Birth Certificate) – Max 3 MB (.pdf)
    • Qualification Proof (all mark sheets & certificates in one file) – Max 10 MB (.pdf)
    • Category Certificates (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD/Ex-SM, if applicable) – Max 1–3 MB (.pdf)
  • Payment of Application Fee (if applicable):

  • After successful submission, candidates should retain a printout of the application form for future reference. No hard copy submission is required at this stage. Original documents will be verified later.
